Alattio is Italy in Alta

After a long day on the road, losing and finding yourself out in the local adventure wonderland, it's time to enjoy some authentic Italian pasta, pizza and some nice beers at Alattio in the main square, where the concept is to bring authentic Italian cuisine to Alta. It's easier than going to Italy!

The team at Alattio have developed the recipes and menu together with a chef from Italy, Christian, who moved from Italy to Alta to join the Alattio crew, and delivers only the best and most authentic Italian experience to you.

Every cutting-edge menu celebrates the richness and diversity of fresh, local and regional produce.

Infused with inspiration from everywhere

Alattio (and Æventyr) focuses on providing quality gastronomic experiences using local arctic raw materials - meat, fish, water, herbs, vegetables and berries, which are often considered to be the best of their kind on the planet. Their employees are comprised of a total of 15 different nationalities and consequently their kitchens are also infused and inspired by international trends. Combined with good local ingredients, the result is an culinary experience you will remember.

Let us take you on a culinary journey to Italy

To ensure their dishes are as authentic and tasty as possible, Alattio have invested in the very best equipment from Italy. All the pizzas are baked in a wood-fired oven and they make everything from scratch, from the dough to the sauce. Most of their dishes can be made gluten free, and they offer pizza made from gluten-free dough, but since it is made in the same kitchen as other pizzas, it may contain traces of gluten. The gluten-free pasta is made and cooked separately, and most sauces are naturally gluten-free.

As a guest at Canyon Hotell you will receive a discount card for their restaurants, Alattio and Stakeriet (discount only applies to food). The breakfast buffet is located in Alattio, and breakfast is included in the room price.

Enjoy homemade cakes that Chocolate Camilla has dished up, along with a cup of delicious Italian coffee or espresso. You can choose between a number of devilishly debaucherous cakes - or maybe you don't want to choose - in which case, you can order them all at once - for scientific purposes, of course! Chocolate-Camilla Cake, the Torta Caprese al Limine, Carrot cake, Red Velvet Cupcake or the dessert of the day - there is something for all tastes!

The Light which can be heard

Alta is on the UNESCO list for its rock carvings, the winter weather is perfect for northern lights hunting, dog sledding, whale watching and all the arctic activities you can imagine. From Alta you can explore nature between the fjords and the mountains. The mystery surrounding the light has given us many myths and legends over the years. Everything from heroes who lit up the sky to mysterious figures and warnings of danger. The light has also been given many names and one of the names the Sami use for the light is Guovssahas, which means "the light that can be heard".
