Canyon Hotell - central, comfortable, nice and easy

Some of the reasons we always use Canyon Hotell when we're passing each way through Alta, is of course it's central location, proximity to great restaurants like Alattio and Stakeriet, nightlife at Gabo Bar and Barila Bar. A self-contained enjoyment universe, all within a 100-meter radius of the hotel.

Secure, automated and optimised

Another reason, is how easy it is to get in and out with the motorcycle luggage. The hotel is fully automated, renovated, modernised and optimised and you can open the door and access your room with a code on your mobile phone. This makes the check-in and check-out process much easier and faster, meaning you can spend more time enjoying the countryside, instead of endlessly loitering around hotel lobbys waiting to check in or out.

As it is an automated hotel the staff is invisible, but they also have a reception where someone can appear in an instant, if you need them.

Peace and quiet to reload and recharge

Canyon Hotell in the heart of Alta city center is all about modernization, innovation and sustainability. They’ve done away with the minibars, bellboys, parking staff and room service. As a result, they can offer modern, stylish and affordable rooms, with free wi-fi and self-service check-in, check-out, great security, peace of mind and tranquility for recharging your batteries after the long ride north to get here. Remember to back up all of your photos & video, and recharge all of your devices, also!

Materials and decor from the local region

Their concept is based around showing visitors the history and beauty of Alta, through choice of furniture, materials, pictures and other items designed and produced in Alta. All rooms are made with local materials and decor in a rustic, elegant and comfortable style. After a total renovation in the summer 2019, Canyon Hotel was reopened in modern and beautiful form.

Stakeriet - Great local restaurant with Arctic gastronomic experiences

No experience is complete without food, and you can try the best that Nordic cuisine has to offer. Stakeriet Food and Wine Bar is Inspired by Nordic and international cuisine using locally sourced ingredients, food and traditional recipes infused with an international touch. All restaurants and bars are located a short walk (50 meters) away in the adjacent city center.

Alattio is Italy in Alta

After that, maybe that evening or next day, you can enjoy some authentic Italian pasta and pizza at Alattio in the main square. To ensure their dishes are as authentic and tasty as possible, they have invested in the very best equipment. All the pizzas are baked in a wood-fired oven and they make everything from scratch, from the dough to the sauce. Alattio have developed the recipes and menu together with a chef from Italy, Christian, who moved from Italy to Alta to join the Alattio team, and delivers only the best Italian experience to you. As a guest at Canyon Hotell you will receive a discount card for their restaurants in each room (discount only applies to food). The breakfast buffet is located in Alattio, and breakfast is included in the room price.

Gabo Arctic Bar

In the evenings, you can sit back and enjoy an arctic inspired cocktail with local ingredients at Gabo Bar. The décor and interior are inspired by the Alta Rivers fishing history, and the name Gabo Bar is inspired by a spot by the Alta River - Gabo - a difficult stretch to pass by boat. Gabo Bar can also be difficult to pass on a good night out!

Automated Check-in & check-out

Check-In time is at 15:00. You will receive the access code to the hotel and your room by SMS and email at the check-in time. Guests are automatically checked-in at 15:00, and you can access the hotel at any time during your stay. If you are early and have a couple of hours to kill before check-in, you could get a nice lunch at Alattio or Stakeriet, just a minute's walk from the hotel, on the main square. Check-out is at 12:00.

MICE, Teambuilding, Meeting & Conference Rooms

Canyon Hotell has meeting rooms for up to 40 people and hybrid meeting equipment, so you can combine your meetings or corporate events with stays at the hotel, dinner at their local restaurants or add an adventure or two to the mix with their tour company, Æventyr, who also run teambuilding trips for large groups.
